12th April 2005, 2:23pm
After long months of complete silence, Ubi Soft have finally revealed a press release stating the game is still in development, and is due out in the 3rd quarter of 2005. Check out these new screenshots!"Ubisoft is blending the winning formula of Far Cry for the PC with the hardware capabilities of the consoles. The result - an intense action-packed gameplay experience that will raise the bar for the First-Person Shooter Survival genre," proclaimed Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubi Soft. "In Far Cry Instincts, players will become the Ultimate Predator, as they are forced to outlast the wilderness hell and unleash every imaginable survival tactic and skill."
Just as Far Cry redefined the First-Person Shooter genre for the PC, Far Cry Instincts will take things a step further with its wide open environments and unique immersive gameplay elements. Developed by Ubisoft's renouned Montreal studio (the same folks that developed Chaos Theory_, Far Cry Instincts takes the PC version's signature locations, Full-Action Response A.I. (F.A.R. concept), and unprecedented view-distance (of around 1.4KM), and combines them with improved gameplay scenarios that will challenge players to utilise an even broader range of strategies and survival tactics to uncover the many secrets within the beautiful, but deadly islands.
Far Cry Instincts is due in September, although no official date has been released.
