"RUGBY LEAGUE" Videogame Dominates Australasian Christmas Sales

Wellington, NZ - January 9, 2004 - Amongst strong competition, New Zealand developed videogame "Rugby League" has been the top selling game title in Australasia for the past 4 weeks since its release on December 12, 2003.

"We are very pleased with the success of the game", said Mario Wynands, Managing Director of Sidhe Interactive, the game development studio behind the title. "Very strong competing products were introduced onto the market during the Christmas season, but we took the number 1 slot and keep it through one of the busiest videogame sales periods of the year".

Before launch "Rugby League" broke the EB Games worldwide single store preorder record when over 1,150 units of the game were preordered at EB Games Eastgarden's store in Sydney, Australia. The record was formerly held by a US based EB Games store for preorders of "GTA3: Vice City".

"The sales, public response and feedback have been truly remarkable these past 4 weeks", said David Robles, Business Development Manager of Tru Blu Games, publisher for the game. "It's a great result for the local industry".

Rugby League (known as "Stacey Jones Rugby League" in NZ and "SuperLeague Rugby League" in Europe) is available for the Sony PlayStationTM 2, Microsoft XboxTM and PC platforms.
