Electroplankton Event Info
DS
9th April 2005, 8:53pm
Electroplankton is a pet project of Toshio Iwai's. On the box, it says it's created by him. And it was. All by himself. You see, Toshio Iwai is not just a game designer, but also has roots in programming too. So he comes up with an idea, and then puts it into action. This week in Japan, Nintendo held a special event highlighting Iwai, his creations and Electroplankton. There's not much more to be understood about the musical/aquatic game, but there are demo units all over the exhibition showing off the plankton. The main focus is on the creator himself, and his past projects. For example, what eventually became Sim Tunes for PC was originally a SNES game - albeit one that Nintendo decided to not release even when it was complete. From the look of it, they're fully supporting Iwai's newest game, as both Satoru Iwata and Shigeru Miyamoto were at the event.
Ten special DS systems, emblazoned with plankton, are up for grabs...but only if you fill out a survey at the exhibit. Tough luck. Especially since they're so damn awesome.
