$13 for Pacman? Microsoft Says Yes
Xbox 360

Aaron Greenberg, a Microsoft executive, is defending the 800ms points price of the new Pacman CE (Championship Edition) game on Xbox Live Arcade.
He states that the game has actually had a lot of time and effort put in to it, but also thinks it would be nice if more people bought the game so they could see just how great it is.
Namco came to Microsoft stating they wanted the game to be sold for 800 Microsoft points, and MS naturally agreed.
The question still remains though, would Xbox Live Arcade titles sell more than twice as much if the prices were halved? Considering it costs absolutely nothing once the game is on the marketplace to maintain, is there any point keeping the price of XBLA titles at their original price for more than a few months?
Surely gamers that are willing to pay the 800 points will get it when it comes out, and then when the price drops, more people that would have never considered paying full price for it will buy it.
Microsoft seems to be in heavy debates about the pricing issue on the Xbox Live marketplace, and really, we doubt there will be any changes unless Sony or Nintendo step up and provide some serious competition for downloadable content via their latest consoles.
