Acclaim Appoints New President Of International Publishing

ACCLAIM ENTERTAINMENT, INC. APPOINTS MIKE SHERLOCK AS PRESIDENT OF INTERNATIONAL PUBLISHING

Former Sega Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Rejoins Company to Drive Growth and Development of International Division

GLEN COVE, NY, January 9, 2004 – Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ.SC: AKLM), a global video entertainment software developer and publisher, today announced the appointment of Mike Sherlock as President of International Publishing. Highly respected within the interactive entertainment industry, Sherlock rejoins the Company from Sega, where he was Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for their European division. In his new role with Acclaim, Sherlock will be responsible for the management of the Company's European publishing units and will be based out of Acclaim's Knightsbridge, London office and report directly to Rod Cousens, the Company's Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to Sherlock's tenure with Sega, he served as Managing Director for Acclaim's European publishing division. Before Sega, he held several senior level positions within the consumer electronics industry, including a consultancy Managing Director position with Andromeda, a European software distributor. Earlier in his career, Sherlock worked within the beverage industry for Cadbury Schweppes and Gallo Wines, where he launched the vineyard's European business and grew it to £25 million as its Managing Director. Sherlock holds a First Class Honors Degree in Economics from Sheffield University.
