10th July 2007, 4:20pm

Technology site smarthouse.com.au has confirmed that on 12th July, new pricing will be announced for the Playstation 3 for Australia, and other PAL markets. Michael Ephraim, Managing Director of Sony Computer Electronics for Australia has confirmed a price cut of up to 17%. This would put the RRP of the 60gb model at around $AUD829
This brings us in-line with the recent confirmation of a PS3 pricedrop to be announced at E3 this week.
Sliced Comments: About time! A welcome drop for Aussie gamers. Still quite a bit more expensive than the 360, and Wii system, however the Blu-ray capabilities make it about even.
