Uchida runs a memory loss clinic, and doctors at the hospital say the games are a good form of mental stimulation for seniors. "The game won't cure dementia," said Dr. Takeshi Kihara - a neuropsychiatrists at the clinic, "but it's a good form of stimulation - especially for old people living alone."
The titles, the first of which - "Brain Training" - is due out this month in Australia, have been a huge hit in Japan, especially among those not typically interested in gaming. Uchida hospital has 10 DS systems available to patients, all of which are always rented out. Interesting note: we get the title a month and bit before the US.
