A study by the Macrovision Network says that, worldwide, over one-third of those considered 'casual' gamers have nine or more two-hour gaming sessions per week. This is dramatically different to the common thought that casual gamers spend roughly fifteen minutes at a time playing games.

More than half of all the gamers studied were between 35 and 60, and 71% of respondents for female. Puzzle games were the most popular, followed by card games. 70% bought a title after first playing it free on t he Internet, and roughly two-thirds read game reviews. 46% said their purchases were influenced by these reviews.
