Deadly Skies III for PlayStation 2 sets it sights even higher, with the series' renowned combat missions now enhanced via incredibly detailed graphics, a larger number of characters, twisting plots and a number of officially-licensed planes. The game concentrates on the efforts of the heroes of Delta Squadron, a crack unit of pilots, committed to protecting the world from enemy forces – and now faced with their greatest challenge to date.

The player can select one of 20 members of the Force, before guiding their chosen hero through the 60 squad-based futuristic missions that unfold. Intuitive controls and remarkable CPU AI then contribute to a series of breath-taking tasks wherein players are charged with taking out key installations, convoys or weapon facilities, with the game eventually leaving the atmosphere of Earth and taking the player into space where it transpires the biggest threat to Earth lurks.
