DJ Hero 2 Coming Later This Year
Wii, PS3, Xbox 360

A sequel to a music game just one year later? Crazy! Yes, in the industry currently in the throes of beating one of its best horses to death, last year's DJ Hero was a valiant point of difference. Brand new songs mixed exclusively for the game, and a new input device to make things fresh. Well, as expected, they're back for another shot, and if they improve half as much as Guitar Hero did between its first two iterations, there's cause for excitement.
DJ Hero 2 will spin together over 70 tracks from some of the biggest artists in pop, dance and hip hop, including Dr. Dre, The Chemical Brothers, Kanye West, Metallica, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Plus, they're giving owners of the original game a taste of the new beats, with a download featuring Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” mixed with Deadmau5’s “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” available for free June 8-14.
Gameplay improvements include new multiplayer modes, such as DJ Battles that pit DJ against DJ in mixes produced specifically for battle gameplay. Vocalists are also welcome with integrated on-screen singing and rapping of lyrics, and jump-in/jump-out Party Play gameplay. There's more creative input with freestyle scratching, crossfading and sampling, and a career-based Empire Mode where players start out as an up-and-coming DJ on the road to becoming the head of a major entertainment empire.
The game is due out this summer.

I may just pick up a copy, I really enjoyed the first one and still have the kit.

I liked some of the tracks on the first one but didn't really get into it. Didn't finish it anyway.
