Donkey Kong Country Returns December 2nd
Wii

While Nintendo of America has applied for a trademark of the phrase 'It's on like Donkey Kong', Nintendo of Australia has finally given us a date to look forward to: December 2nd, 2010. The reboot of the franchise by Metroid Prime developers Retro Studios is set to be Donkey Kong's first original console platforming effort since 2005's Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. Yes, it's been that long. Even Metroid's seen two releases in that time, which is saying something.
The game brings some new experiences, namely two player simultaneous co-op to the series for the first time, and the same Super Mario Galaxy 2-esque help for new players. If Diddy Kong is struggling, he can just hop on Donkey Kong's back and ride along through the tricky sections. If you keep dying you can activate the Super Guide that will see the computer play through the tough spots for as long as you want so no-one's ever stuck. And that's not to mention the gorgeous graphics.
You'll be able to pick it up for an RRP of $99.95 (but you can find it way cheaper online).
