Billed as the next rage in import racing by car magazines and race enthusiasts, the sport based on precision power-sliding began as an underground race form on treacherous mountain roads in Japan known as the Kaido. Today drift racing is enjoying a sudden surge in interest among race fans, with the announcement for the game coming just days after its biggest US event to-date, the D1 Grand Prix, which drew thousands of fans to Irwindale, CA. Developed by Genki as the sport’s first authentic videogame simulator, Drift Racer: Kaido Battle fully immerses players in the world of drift racing. The game faithfully recreates the Kaido so players can race the very roads where the sport was born, and further enhances the realism with more than 150 licensed cars to unlock in the course of the game. Drift Racer: Kaido Battle also has sponsored race parts for detailed car tuning and modifications to handling physics, along with five play modes that cover underground and sanctioned drift racing and the sport’s variety of speed and style-driven competition.
