E3 2004: Sega to Co-Publish Matrix Online

Sega of America and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced an agreement that will see Sega Co-publish Matrix Online the Massively Multiplayer Online Game based on the Matrix series. It is a worldwide exclusive deal, Sega will manage the distribution of The Matrix Online, while Warner Bros. will oversee the content development. Expected to launch November 2004, this is big news for the Matrix fans waiting for this game.
The Matrix Online is a MMOG where players in the numbers of tens of thousands will jack into the Matrix world to continue the saga set by the Matrix movies. Currently it is being developed by Monolith Productions, in conjunction with the Wachowski Bros(Creators of the Matrix) it will be a recreation of the visual world of the matrix. Combat will be based on wire-fu combat and the game based on an extensive mission structure, social interaction and completely customizable skill and ability system.
