Eidos (Nasdaq: EIDSY), one of the world's leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, announced that the company's video game heroine Lara Croft will make a celebrity appearance at this year's Nokia Sugar Bowl. Eidos and the N-Gage game deck have joined together to provide copies of the new Tomb Raider for the N-Gage device to all the game's attendees. Nokia plans to give away more than 70,000 copies at the pinnacle college football game on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004.
"Tomb Raider starring Lara Croft is one of the strongest titles so far for the Nokia N-Gage," said Debra Kennedy, Nokia. "We are pleased to work with Eidos to share the Tomb Raider experience with the lucky fans at this year's Nokia Sugar Bowl."
"We are very excited to have Lara Croft represent the entire video game industry at this year's highly-esteemed Nokia Sugar Bowl," said Paul Baldwin, vice president of marketing, Eidos. "Lara has always been the number one video game heroine, and it's appropriate for her to be present at this year's Sugar Bowl where the national champion will be crowned."
This classic monster shooting, exploration, and puzzle-solving action game for the N-Gage game deck offers up 15 huge levels and full 3D graphics, but what really sets it apart is the downloadable Assault Course (via N-Gage(TM) Arena) which lets players compete against a shadow image of their friend's effort.
