Electronic Arts purchases Bioware, Pandemic Studios
11th January 2008, 5:00pm

In a sign of further consolidation in the industry, Electronic Arts has purchased VG Games - holder of Bioware and Pandemic Studios. Bioware are developers of the popular Mass Effect, and Knights of the Republic games. Pandemic Studios is familiar for developing Destroy All Humans, Mercenaries, and Star Wars Battlefront II, amongst other titles.
The games will continue to be developed under their own studios, just under the EA Games brand.
Sliced Comments: Further consolidation may be worrying to some, however EA hopefully continues to foster the studio environment to exert the creativity that made them successful.
