Enlight and Vidis Sign Exclusive Distribution Deal for German-speaking Countries

Vidis announced today that it has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Enlight for the PC game title Restaurant Empire.

While Vidis has been in the gaming industry since 1983, the Hamburg-based company with its "Brooklyn" brand of accessories was already well-known as an expert in peripherals before engaging in software publishing. Vidis started their software publishing venture obtaining exclusive German distribution rights for gaming pioneers such as Activision, Epyx, Imagic, Parker, CBS and others some 20 years ago.

"Although accessories have always been our top priority, we never really stopped offering games", commented Axel Schroeder, CEO of Vidis, "but those were mainly close-out-deals where you don't advertise or market your games." With the representation of Kemco and Enlight (and more to follow, according to Schroeder), Vidis is again poised to tackle the demanding German gaming market with force.

"With Vidis we have a well established, relatively small yet successful and flexible partner for the important German PC game market. An organization like Vidis fits perfectly with the needs and long term strategic vision of Enlight as we make the move to become a worldwide game publisher." said Trevor Chan, CEO of Enlight.

The very first project of the new Enlight/Vidis cooperation will be Restaurant Empire for PC (or Restaurant Gigant, as it will be called in German-speaking territories). "A game like Restaurant Gigant from a world-famous developer of business simulations like Enlight offers a huge potential for imaginative marketing and PR and allows us to effectively position ourselves within the German PC market. All of us look forward to the release of Restaurant Gigant on April 11th" said Thomas Moss, Head of Marketing of Vidis.
