The eagerly awaited Final Fantasy III hits the stores in the US today for the Nintendo DS.
Final Fantasy III DS has received rave reviews over in Japan and on import, and offers a lot of gameplay tweaks and greatly improved graphics over the original version, which has been redone in 3D.
The game has never received an official release in remade form in the US, other than the original NES version. The original Final Fantasy III released in the US was in fact Final Fantasy IV, not the original FFIII in Japan.
Some of the features of the DS version include:
- Wifi communication with other players
- 279,000 party variations with new job-changing system
- Character designer Akihiko Yoshida contributes to the outfits of the four main characters and job outfits
