Wii
14th December 2006, 9:52pm

According to IGN, the Nintendo Wii now holds the record for highest selling console at launch, with 32,901 units sold in just four days, beating the previous record held by the Xbox 360. This news comes from Vispi Bhopti head of PR for Nintendo Australia, so these figures are bound to be accurate.
Many retail stores have completely sold out of stock, with others carrying just a few scraps of hardware and some games. Nintendo's plan to ship sell 4 million units by the end of the year is still on-track, so we can expect some stock replenishment soon.
