Several British citizens were utterly gobsmacked when the PlayStation 3 launch finally arrived in the UK (and no, not because of the price). Sony decided to treat everyone to a parting gift for waiting patiently for the PS3: a brand new, Sony Bravia 46" HDTV was given to every single person who had queued up at Virgin's megastore in Oxford Street, London.

Sliced Comments: This is either a brilliant move by Sony, or a very transparent gesture of "good marketting" for the long-awaited console. We won't know until Sony release some official sales stats, so we'll have to make do with the trickle of news filtering in from the PAL regions.
