6th October 2003, 2:00pm
Nintendo of America announced they have sold 61,000 GameCube in one week, after their price drop reduced to $99.99(US). This is a huge improvement over the past average sales of 15000 units per week.
After the price drop for the Nintendo Gamecube in the US, Nintendo of Japan has announced a price drop aswell. The Gamecube's price in Japan will now be 14000 yen as of October 17th. There's also a price drop for the package deal "Enjoy Plus Pack" (which includes a Gamecube, Memory Card 251 and Gameboy Player) to 19800 yen.
Nintendo of Europe has allready put their price drop in place (down to 99.99 euros) and is now adding four Gamecube titles to their Players Choice list. They are: Super Mario Sunshine, Starfox Adventures, Mario Party 4 and Metroid Prime. This means that they now have a reduced price of 29.99 euros.
The Gamecube successor is said to be coming in 2006 (acording to Nintendo of Europe Managing Director Davis Gosen) so Nintendo has to hold up untill then, because i dont think they can bring the price any lower.
