Trying to work out a reason to buy the Xbox 360 version of Unreal Tournament III which is due out next month, 9 months after the PS3 and PC versions hit the shelves? How about something to do with Gears of War 2... How about a Gears of War 2 beta invite?

In this video, Videogamer.com attacked Mark Rein while he appeared to be under the influence (he has a bloody beer in his hand!), and perhaps got a little more information than they were supposed to. "Buy Unreal Tournament III" said Mark Rein, "There may be a little surprise in Unreal Tournament III that's Gears related."

If it is indeed a beta test, it could do for UT3 what Halo 3 did for Crackdown. Wild unpredictable sales all around, and a very wise move to sell a game that may not have received much attention otherwise.

With all the new content being thrown in to the Xbox 360 version of Unreal Tournament III including 2-player split screen multi and co-op, fans of the series should certainly be getting pumped for its release in a couple of weeks. Currently UT3 is scheduled for a July 4 release in PAL territories on Xbox 360.

Sorry to get everyone's hopes up this morning, but as it turns out, all that will be in UT3 is an eight minute Gears of War 2 video. Better than nothing, but a demo or beta would have been nicer.

About bloody time! Massive delay now.. although I think it's mainly been over licensing issues between Microsoft and Epic Games regarding user-shared content.

Valve have the same problem with MS and extra content. Valve want the updates (Pyro, Medic etc) to be free, while MS don't, so they can't do a damn thing.
