Gears of War New Screens and Website Kit Released

Gears of War puts players into the battle against the ferocious Locust Horde, as they emerge from the earth to take over the planet. The game will feature a mix of fast action and co-operatation with your squad to exterminate the Locust Horde. Gears of War will be the first game to use the sexy new Unreal 3 engine. From the video and screenshots, you can tell the game will be stunning visually.

A key feature is that players will be able to play co-operatively via intelligent A.I. or real human players, and will offer frantic online action on Xbox Live. Epic is aiming for a feel like a mature action-horror movie feel, and the game will be 'geared' for players 18 years+

Gears of Wars is developed by Epic Games for Microsoft Game Studios exclusively for Xbox 360. The game will be released vaguely on 'Emergence Day', whenever that is. Rumours suggest this will be in late November.

Epic has released a new fan pack, which includes a whole bunch of images for anybody interested in building a fan site for the game. These can be downloaded from the website link above in our funky new menu above. We've included some of these shots, and also the 1024x768 and 1280x1024 wallpaper for your desktop.
