Ghostbusters Is Timed PS3 Exclusive In Australia

Atari sent us a press release this morning explaining the worldwide launch plan for Ghostbusters. Apublishing deal with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has resulted in the game becoming a Sony platform (PS3, PS2, and PSP in Spring) timed exclusive in Australia.

In North America the game is being published by Atari, and will be coming to Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, PS2, PC and Nintendo DS on June 16th, 2009. However, Australia's June 19th release date is solely for the Sony versions. The Xbox 360 and Wii releases will come later, in Spring. The launch has been timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original film’s theatrical release and the launch of the Blu-Ray of the classic first movie.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is penned by original Ghostbusters writers and stars Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd and reunites many of the original cast members to recapture the unique blend of humour and fright that established Ghostbusters as a pop culture sensation.
