Guitar Hero 5 Details Revealed
Xbox 360, PS3, Wii
Guitar Hero 5 is set to release this Spring with a few new innovations and a brand new setlist. For the first time, players will be able to mix and match the composition of their band to suit their tastes - that means you could use three guitars and a microphone, or a guitar, a mic and two drum kits. There are new modes called Party Play and RockFest that allow for some degree of customisation - the former allows for people and instruments to drop in and out with ease, while the latter features five new competitive modes playable online or off, with access to all the songs from the very start.
Speaking of the music, the game will feature 85 master tracks from new favourites and old classics, including Kings of Leon, The Rolling Stones, The White Stripes, Santana, Vampire Weekend, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and over 30 artists that will make their music video game debut. Some - but not all - downloadable content from Guitar Hero World Tour will be compatible and will automatically be updated to suit the game's new features.
Other new features include Band Moments, where groups are rewarded for hitting special note streams together, and song challenges where gamers are tasked to play through a song a specific way.
