Halo 3: ODST Details - With Tons Of Screens
Xbox 360

We've been a little lax in covering ODST to date, but we're making up for it today. Bungie's newest game details the events leading up to Halo 3 through the eyes of an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), as they search for clues leading to the whereabouts of their scattered squad and the motivations behind the Covenant’s invasion of New Mombasa.
Halo 3: ODST introduces Firefight, a new cooperative multiplayer mode where up to four players can form a squad and take on increasingly challenging waves of enemies (i.e. Horde mode from Gears of War 2). Also included are three new Halo 3 multiplayer maps on a second standalone disc, which includes all original maps, as well as the 'Legendary', 'Heroic', and 'Mythic' Map packs, making twenty-four in total.
There is also a 'Collector’s Pack' that includes the game and a new and exclusive Wireless Controller. Plus, those that pre-order the game at participating retailers worldwide will receive a token to unlock Sgt. Johnson as a playable character in Firefight. And, as a special bonus for fans, all copies of Halo 3: ODST will provide access to the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta when it goes live (we'll have more info on the game later today).
Here are your screenshots. Thanks for holding out.

While the game looks pretty badass - I wonder how much of the Halo fan base will be be happy to play as someone other then the Master Chief?

You already play as someone other than the Master Chief in Halo 2 and 3... and I don't mean in multiplayer.
It's been quite a while since I played either but wasn't atleast half of 2 and the mast majority of 3 played as MC?

From memory all of 3 was MC. I might be a bit fuzzy now though.
