Miyamoto discussed it, he showed it to only a few people, but now you can see it for yourself. We notice that Link isn't holding a sword, could that be a living Master Sword in front of him? No information was released along with the art, leaving fans to ponder what Nintendo have in store.

haha mc
i think thats not a bad idea - i believe there was an interview with miyamoto who mentioned the next zelda game will be sword play focuses, but it all depends on how the new wii fit sells since it has wii motion controllers needed for it

I think you mean Wii Sports Resort - and a whole heap of EA sports and Red Steel 2 as well are coming bundled with it. I don't they'll have a shortage of M+s out in the publics hands.

And yeah most people are now saying that's the Master Sword, definitely looks like it. Will be interesting to see how that works.

There was a guy that came in to the store that I worked at that said he read something that said they were re-releasing titles such as Force Unleashed for the Motion Plus. It wasn't terribly far fetched, I'm surprised they haven't announced anything about re-releases yet, or at least some sort of Star Wars title that takes advantage of the motion plus. I guess they don't want people to stop buying the current titles.

Why re-release when you could make a new game from the ground up?

Why re-release when you could make a new game from the ground up?

Because that takes effort and companies would rather make money selling the same product again rather than make something brand new which might not sell as well.

eg. pikmin, pikmin 2, mario power tennis. It's already been done, by Nintendo...

But no-one's going to buy a second copy of TFU when a) they bought the first one eight months ago and b) most of the Star Wars fans that bought the game thought it was crap. They'd have to make a new MotionPlus game with lightsabers from the ground up in order to overcome that perception.

There's a difference between re-releasing a game that is eight years old and re-releasing one that is eight months old.

Living swords are always fun. Especially when they have an attitude problem (re: Dragon Star Sword).

It'll be interesting to see how they tie this chick in to Zelda canon.

Cannon

Canon is a body of lore (ie mythology) around a particular subject (ie Zelda history and mythology).

A cannon is weapon.

No one mentioned cannons.

We were suggesting that there is no formal Zelda canon that dictates whether something is appropriate or not for the series.

I agree with zelda if they think something will make a game more fun they will not let any conflicts  with past games stop them from putting it in.

Yeah. Apparently there is a document sitting around Nintendo somewhere that says 'top secret' on it, regarding the time line.

There is a Zelda bible that's been written that contains everything about the series, like names, items and mythology. Miyamoto has made reference to it a couple of times, but he's also said that they can override it at will if they want to do something. I was just wondering how they're going to tie the chick in to the story. Will she be the conscious will of the sword, or the embodiment of the prayers used to power the sword or a spirit that gets wrongfully slain and trapped in the sword or what.

I would call it more of a fable than a canon given it has not been written in stone as of yet.

I prefer to think there is a canon in the Zelda series but

more than likely, they're just making it up as they go.
