8-player wireless play.Wow. Nintendo pulls through again. Mario Kart DS will feature extensive wireless multiplayer modes, which also returning to the series' roots with only one person per kart. Players can jump, skid and powerslide for that extra boost all with fully 3D character models and courses. And its all at a super slick 60 frames per second.
The top screen shows a top down view of the course, which is useful to see any upcoming items, or surprises launched by people coming up behind you. It can be quickly changed to a map with rankings and item display when needed. Currently, the game appears to be like a combination of the N64 and SNES versions - a mix which is sure to delight all fans of the series.
