On its conference call, EA also revealed that Mass Effect 2 was in development at BioWare and if all proceeds to plan would be out in the 2010 calendar year. The game is expected to be released on both Xbox 360 and PC, though it appears that the game is being published by EA this time around, like the PC version, and not Microsoft, who published the original console version. Does this mean that EA might be bringing the franchise to the PS3?

We can expect a lot more news at GDC 2009, where two members of the BioWare team are presenting an hour-long lecture about level design. GDC kicks off in the last week of March.

Mass Effect was an odd game for me, sections of it I absolutely loved, others I loathed more then hippies! (God damn I hate hippes). But def lookin forward to the second installment, wonder whether it will follow Shepard again on a similar story line (like 2yrs later) or bring in a new character?

If it were available on steam I would have bought it but I didn't really feel like it was worth going to any effort to get.

It's on Steam now for US$30 and no DRM. I'm looking forward to number 2, but only if they fix the combat (so that it's actually interesting) give me something to do like some real exploration and let me skip dialogue then I'll be happy.

sooo....a generic FPS?

I agree some of hte dialogue was a bit drawn out, and I certainly got bored driving around a dead planet looking for mining nodes, but I liked the combat system, was a bit different. If they added a stacking mechanism (re: RS:Las Vegas) it would really improve it.

But the story was refreshingly good, upgrades and leveling system well set out.
