Rare is reviving one of its most beloved and successful franchises exclusively on Xbox 360 with the third installment of the Banjo-Kazooie series, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. The story goes that the Lord of the Games (aka LOG) is tired of the petty squabbling between Banjo and the evil witch Gruntilda (aka Grunty), and has arranged a showdown to decide the rightful owner of Spiral Mountain. Claiming to have created every video game ever made, LOG has built the game worlds in which the contest’s challenges take place. Banjo must complete LOG’s challenges to win, while Grunty tries to stop him using every method her devious mind can muster.

The tweak to the formula introduced in this game is the vehicle customisation option. Rather than the linear ability tree of most traditional platformers, where upgrades are routinely handed out at predetermined points, everything in Nuts & Bolts is freely accessible - assuming you can get there. By collecting parts and customising your vehicle, you'll be able to travel further and further afield in search of new worlds and more elusive Jiggys.

Now, we have a stack of media for your perusal. There's literally one zillion screenshots (count 'em), including some of the Terrorium and Jiggyseum stages. We've also got some nice character art, a trailer, and a Jiggyseum flythrough (think colosseum, not museum). So what are you waiting for? Dive in!

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Trailer - 16.9MB WMV

Jiggyseum Flythrough - 90.5MB WMV

Looking better than I thought it might.

What's with the 'biggest family adventure this season' movie voice though?

Lookin' pretty awful.

Considering you also said that about LittleBigPlanet you have pretty bad/weird taste.

lol. No.

LBP isn't even a game - it's a level editor. If you do manage to create a decent level after say, I dunno maybe 2 hours or so of effort, you get to play the game with floaty/slow physics and otherwise dodgy platforming mechanics. LBP is not good.

BK:N&B is hardly even a BK game.

I agree that Nuts & Bolts is barely a Banjo game, but given that LittleBigPlanet packs in a whole stack of levels to complete on your own, I think it's a little unfair to call it just a level editor.

I actually agree with this O.O

Though I still want to try out LBP to see what all the fuss is about

Yeah I wanna try LBP.

Demo's out on Live for Banjo, my connection is down for whatever reason, hear it's somewhat average though. Will report in myself at a later date.
