Merrick Has More To Say
DS
11th November 2005, 6:52pm

Merrick iterated that downloaded games will be saved to the system’s internal flash memory, which will be expandable. He also revealed that third parties have signed on to the service to offer their older games (...SEGA?), and that there's a chance Nintendo will present game demos and trailers for download.
Apparently Nintendo have big hopes for the service, even though lots of classic games can already be emulated on computers.
"If you want to play on your PC, then [you can]," he said. "But they don’t play as well there as they play on a console." He added slyly that if you preferred the former, then in the middle of the night there's a knock on your door and the Nintendo police come and take you away."
Merrick confirmed that to his knowledge Hideo Kojima (of Metal Gear Solid fame) is working on a Revolution title. He also said to look forward to E3 2006, since there would be playable Revolution titles. There will also be third party games for play.
"There are a lot of third parties working on games for Revolution. But they are third parties, so when they decide to show or when they decide to announce is their call."
He also took the chance to respond to Mark Rein's scathing comments (see the news article from earlier tonight):
"Mark has a very narrow section of the business. Epic builds middleware, they're very technically savvy guys, but he doesn't have a Revolution controller, he doesn't have a [development] kit, he's talking about something he knows nothing about."
