Metroid Prime Trilogy Bundles 3 Games Into 1
Wii
Fantastic news, Wii owners! Retro Studios is bundling all three games in the amazing Metroid Prime trilogy into one Wii disc for America. The games were released individually in Japan, but it appears Western audiences will be getting them in a combined game.
Even better, they are all being repackaged with the updated, Metroid Prime 3-style controls, widescreen, 480p, the medal achievements introduced in the final game, and a brand new front end. The only thing missing is online play for Metroid Prime 2: Echoes' multiplayer mode, but that's a small price to pay for so much extra content. You know what else is a small price to pay? $100 for three games.
If you own a Wii, you literally have no reason not to buy this game. It comes out in August in America, so we can hope for an August-September release here. We've contacted Nintendo to confirm that the games will be released here in the Trilogy bundle, rather than individually, and will let you know what we hear. You can head over to IGN for the first videos and screens.
Reader Comments:

What about people who don't like Metroid? Or 80% of Wii owners that don't even know who Metroid Prime is?
It's kind of funny that your only comment about the news is about a throwaway line. If you feel like you can do better, you're more than welcome to do a news article more than once every two months.

I'm just suggesting that the article is perhaps a little too positive.
They are great games arriving for a system in dire need of great games.

Oh you guyssss.
I'm pretty pumped but I don't know if I'll get it, not yet anyway. I still remember the games pretty much off by heart. MP3 controls were rad though.
MP3 had horrible controls. The only way you can turn is by slowly circling by pointing the Wii remote away from the TV. It's crap. Movement should be bound to the analogue stick, with look left/right on on the nunchuck until you go in to aiming mode, and then it becomes strafe, just like in the first two games.
What? MP3 controls were awesome so long as you switched them to advanced.

QFT.
No. Maybe because I play on a PC, but if I'm playing a shooting game I expect to be able to turn about in less than a second. Even on advanced mode, the controls are too slow.
While you might be used to faster controls, I don't see why your suggested method would work better. Why disconnect the looking and aiming?
Because you could turn faster in MP1 with analogue controls than you could in MP3 with Wii remote controls.
