BusinessWeek recently interviewed Shigeru Miyamoto. Here's an interesting question and response:

"Q:In the future, what do you think video games will be like?

A: It's convenient to make games that are played on TVs. But I always wanted to have a custom-sized screen that wasn't the typical four-cornered cathode-ray-tube TV. I've always thought that games would eventually break free of the confines of a TV screen to fill an entire room. But I would rather not say anything more about that."

While we're on the topic of Miyamoto quotes, here's a classic one from Edge magazine:

'Why isn’t it [the analogue stick] wireless? We ask. "Because," laughs Miyamoto, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world, "if it was we wouldn’t be able to call it the nunchuck controller.)"

Wow. Gaming that fills a room, and quite possibly the best Miyamoto quote yet.
