Miyamoto Still Supporting Gamecube

Gamecube is in the middle of a strong AAA game season, and it doesn't seem to be about to change. Games like Pikmin 2, Paper Mario 2: The Thousand Year Door, Donkey Konga, Tales of Symphonia and the upcoming Metroid Prime 2: Echoes are just a few of the titles worth purchasing. Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo mastermind, is still fully behind the Gamecube.

In a recent interview, Miyamoto was excited by the upcoming games for the system. Mario Baseball, the new Kirby adventure, Donkey Konga and Pokemon. Mario 128 is still reportedly being worked on, and will still appear on the Gamecube. He also was interested in Chibi Robo, a relatively unknown but soon to be completed game starring a 10cm high robot. It is being developed by Skip. Think The Sims shrunk down, and running on batteries. He also hinted that Nintendo may be getting control of the character for later use. Super Smash Bros. 3?

And as for The Legend of Zelda:

"Development is progressing very well. Rather than showing video footage of the game in mid development, we'll debut the final version at E3."

E3 2005 - only 6 months away.
