The third and possibly final game in the Modern Warfare trilogy is arriving this year from Infinity Ward - albeit a different Infinity Ward to the one that made the second game after widespread defection from the company.

The first proper trailer has gone up now on YouTube and showcases a global conflict between America, England, France and Germany - World War 3, in fact.

To be honest, the trailer felt lacking in wow moments to me. It felt a little like I'd seen trains derailing and cars rolling before. Maybe I'm in the minority, though. What did you think of the trailer?

Really hammers home how much better BF3 will be.

Eh, still got me totally pumped up. You're probably right about lack of wow, and they've recycled a couple of bits like the boat (although that was one of my favourite parts), I guess because of time constraints this time around. But it already has nicer visuals than Black Ops, at least, and IW's engine is just better I think.

You gotta remember what the MW series means to me haha. I picked up the first one on a whim, I didn't really like shooters at all, I saw it had a couple of good reviews and so I jumped on it. And it blew my mind - singleplayer and multiplayer. They were both pretty new things. MW2 I still thought was a strong game, and they improved a lot of things on the technical side. I've always found Treyarch's games to be so-so in comparison. Interesting that Sledgehammer worked on this, if I remember Activision originally brought them in to make a third person action CoD? Obviously with IW being torn up, they had to help out on this.

Just a note, I'm also totally pumped up for BF3. Looks awesome, but they're different enough to co-exist.

Gonna fail hard, crash and burn even, IMO.

Must say I'm rather shocked to hear of this so early, I thought Activision/IW founders were still waiting for thier court date, let alone finished with the legal matters.

Perhaps Activision is counting their chickens on the ownership to the MW franchise a little soon?

Either way, EA is sinkin big money into Respawn - If they can get a trailer out before Nov, I won't even bother lookin at reviews for MW3.
