New Bioshock 2 Info (Fake)
PS3, Xbox 360, PC

In what appears to be an information leak, gaming publication Gameinformer have revealed some new details about Bioshock 2 in their April edition. Check out the attached picture to see the cover of the April edition, which contains the first image of what is known as the "Big Sister".
In Bioshock 2, players assume the role of a character named Jack Abbott seven years after the events of the first game (meaning the game is in fact a sequel rather than a prequel). A cutscene starts the game off in New York City as Jack intercepts the Big Sister kidnapping his daughter in his beachhouse. He follows it to the nearby shores as it submerges into the water. Apparently there is only one Big Sister, who is the game's main antagonist. Big Daddies will not be returning, however there will be new enemies such as dogs and Soviets. There will be completely new levels of Rapture available to explore, including a zoo area. Unlike the original, Bioshock 2 will have underwater exploration segments (meaning you can go outside of Rapture), and will even feature squid boss battles. There will be a new health and revival system. As you would expect, the game will offer a range of new weapons and plasmids, two new plasmids have been confirmed as telepathy and time manipulation.
There will now be challenge maps, as well as a 2 player co-op mode. How this will work is yet to be revealed.
Update: Apologies to our readers, it seems this information was fabricated. The cover (and Big Sister image), however, is real.

Well, now we've got the Big Sister. The whole Little Sister system was pretty original too, as was the setting and some of the story. I think you're looking the game too shallowly. As long as Bioshock 2 has a good story, and enough new features to set it apart from the original (looking good so far), I think it will be/do fine.
I don't think Big Sister = female Big Daddy, I think they mean that the Little Sisters have grown up.
I disagree, the Big Sister basically is a female Big Daddy, but she's more intelligent, agile and there's only one of her. The kidnapping of the girls sounds like an attempt to re-establish the Big Daddy-Little Sister system that was going on in the original. It's definitely not a grown up Little Sister in a suit, it's said to be exceptionally tall and slender, sounds like a mutated/splicer person to me.
Haha, wow, I was just looking at the image of the cover, not your description in the news article - I didn't realise there was info. You're right.

So they've officially announced the role you play in this game, as well the the big sisters and whatnot.
It's a pretty huge spoiler but I can't imagine you'll get through to launch without hearing it, still I think I would have preferred not hearing it.
MASS SPOILER TAGS anyway
You play one of the first big daddys gone rogue and hunting for his own little sister, apparently. Plasmids etc will all be returning. More details around somewhere
Indeed. I'll put up an article with all the info in a minute. I don't think it's spoilers, just general info really.
