Just in case you've had a craving for Spore, EA have two new entries in the series on the way for the Nintendo Wii and DS. Created from scratch exclusively for the two consoles, Spore Hero and Spore Hero Arena, for the Wii and DS respectively will be arriving in Australia on October 8th this year.

Spore Hero and Spore Hero Arena give Spore and Nintendo fans a new, dynamic and engaging way to interact with their customised creature heroes,” said Lucy Bradshaw, VP and General Manager at Maxis. “Players’ heroes take center stage as both games, distinctly tailor-made for its Nintendo platform, infuse creativity, combat and adventure to create a unique gameplay experience on the Wii and Nintendo DS.”

Players will be able to take part in battles and solve puzzles to collect and unlock more than 250 new creature parts, all with unique abilities. These parts, which can be used to customise creatures in the Spore Creature Creator, can change the way creatures will fare in combat. Players can also utilise their brawling skills in a multiplayer mode, where they fight their friends with their own customised creature to become the strongest Spore hero around.
