Electronic Arts Drops Bid For Take Two
19th August 2008, 3:34pm

In corporate news, Electronic Arts had let lapse its takeover move for Take Two Entertainment. As many will know, Take Two is most famous for it's Grand Theft Auto series. EA in Feburary made a bid for the company, and raised it's bid several times, however Take Two rejected the deal each time. Languange between the two suggests that discussions may continue, but on less urgent terms.
Sliced Comments: As many gamers have expressed concern over the franchise being swallowed by EA, they may sleep a little easier knowing that Take Two continues independently.
Latest Reader Comments:
EA are a strange company, they have behind some really great titles, but whenever they buy up something they seem to ruin it, eg: C&C Generals.
I'm not a massive fan of GTA, I feel it all went downhill after 1, but as above, I don't think a merger with EA would be in their best interests.
