Black Is The New Wii - Wii
24th February 2010, 11:25am

On March 11, Nintendo Australia will finally deliver on the promise of those initial marketing pictures back in 2005 when a black Wii console hits shelves. Also accompanying the system will be black, pink and blue Wii remotes and a black nunchuk. Traditionally, new console colours are Nintendo's way of reigniting sales after they begin to plateau. Given Wii has sold 1.75 million units in Australia in 167 weeks (the fastest selling console here ever), perhaps the thing they're most worried about is holding onto the record.
The consoles and Wii remotes will hit stores at the same RRP of $399.95 and $69.95 respectively.

It's $30 RRP, and EB's 'RRP' is $34.95. Then they have sales to make up for charging above retail price.
yeah eb has nunchucks for $20 - at least they were the last time i bought one

nun chuks and motion plus' are $30
You sure? Did they go up or something?
Last one I bought was $30 I am pretty sure?! In fact, being a tight-arse, there was no way I spent $70 on another Wii-Remote.
I can't believe the pricing for the new remotes.. $40 premium simply for a different colour? Nintendo must be slobbering at how much they are going to make already..

They should bundle it with a motion plus and wii sports resort. That's the only way I can see them being able to justify keeping the price at $399.
