Nintendo Focuses On Graphics In Long Run
Wii, DS
14th June 2006, 5:16pm

'We thought it was too soon to focus on the high-end graphics,' the Australian Courier Mail was told.'Maybe a few years down the road then definitely we will probably look in that direction, but at this point in time we thought it better to use technology not to simply try to re-create the same games over again with better graphics but instead to try and do something new and unique.'
Miyamoto added that the Wii isn't a pain to developers, as the architecture is an expanded and suped-up Gamecube, allowing for fast development cycles. Hence the large number of launch titles.
He finished by saying that there are two key parts to a great game:
'Number one, the game allows the player to experience something they've never felt before, whether it's some kind of new experience in the game or new emotion. And number two, that the game be very easy to play and easy to control.'
You should have known what he was going to say before you read it.
