Nintendo to Replace Wiimote Straps
Wii
16th December 2006, 5:04pm

After the Wii was released over in the Northern Hemisphere, more than a fair share of users began reporting that the wrist strap included with the remote was flimsy, even citing pictures of Wiimotes lodged in TVs as evidence. As such, Nintendo have announced that they'll be issuing replacement straps to people that require them. The new stock of remotes and Wii consoles also comes with the new strap.
Nintendo Australia have not yet confirmed whether or not they'll be issuing the new straps. You can compare the two here.
