No Battlefield 1942 For Cube
Gamecube
5th September 2003, 5:33pm
Cube Europe today reported that Battlefield 1942 will NOT be heading to the GameCube. They recently contacted Nintendo regarding the situation and go the following reply:
Unfortunately, I can confirm that due to a production error while compiling the video for the show, the logo of Battlefield 1942 slipped into the line-up of EA titles. There is currently no GameCube version of this title planned or announced.
Sorry, if this mistake has caused confusion amongst the European Nintendo fans out there. However, I would like to stress that until the end of the year, more than 60 GameCube titles will come to the European market which give consumers the possibility to select from an outstanding range of more than 200 GCN great games of all genres.
We have strong support from the biggest publishers on top of our own strong line-up. I am sure this will mean a hot Xmas for all Nintendo fans, offering beautiful titles like F-Zero GX, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Golden Sun 2, Final Fantasy Tactics and much, much more ....
The debarle started when a Battlefield 1942 video branding the GameCube logo was recently shown at a Press Conference. Thanks to Cube Europe for the heads up.
