PS3 Sells Like the Dickens

In news that surely must've surprised no-one, Sony has sold many units of the PS3 in Japan. Many many units. Nearly 90, 000 in actual fact: in the two days that it's been avaliable in Japan, approximately 88,400 units were sold to queuing customers.

According to statistics, the best selling titles were Ridge Racer 7 and Gundam: Target in Sight, selling around 30,000 units each.

Unfortunately for Sony, hardware shortages plagued the launch, with huge numbers of customers having to go home empty handed.
