Revision 2 of Wii already planned?
Wii

An interesting hint that Nintendo is already planning a minor revision to the Wii in late 2007. In an announcement they state that they have chosen Sonic Cineplayer CE DVD Navigator for DVD playback facilities for a 'future version of the company's Wii gaming console.'.
In case you missed it, while the Wii includes a DVD drive, from the initial launch it does not include DVD playback by default. Apparently Cineplayer CE is a software solution which allows high-quality DVD playback, and this will allow you to play back your standard movies through this next revision of the Wii.
Sliced Comments: Interesting indeed! So, just what other features will this next revision of the Wii offer? DVD playback is no biggy to 95% of gamers with another DVD player, however surely(?) the release would include more than just this. We don't want to preempt too much at this stage... but could HDTV upscaling also be an option? hmmmm...
