Rumour: Call of Duty: Sci-Fi Edition?

22nd June 2008, 3:47pm

Ok, so you may want to take this post with a grain of salt, but rumour has it that Infinity Ward are working on some sort of sci-fi flavoured game. Infinity Ward, as die-hard fans of the Call of Duty series know, are responsible for the development of Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2 and 4. Developement of the Call of Duty titles are split between them and Treyarch.

IW hasn't done anything else except Call of Duty titles since their inception in 2002. Now, considering that Call of Duty 5 is in development by Treyarch, it seems unlikely that a new Call of Duty game will be announced. However, we may see something very Call of Duty esque if the title is revealed at E3 (as the rumour says).

I've said Call of Duty way too often in this post.

Yeah, Treyarch and Infinity Ward.. but they're both being published by Activision and it's the publisher that makes the most money, so they wouldn't want to be announcing how awesome COD6 is until COD5 has been released and made enough sales to satisfy.
