SEGA Mega Drive Limited Edition LP Up For Grabs
Xbox 360, PS3

This is one of those rare opportunities that you need to grab if you're a SEGA fan. To celebrate the upcoming SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection compilation, SEGA Australia has got their hands on the very first SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection Limited Edition LP to roll off the production line. They'll only have their hands on it for another week, though, because it's up for grabs on eBay with all proceeds going to the Cancer Council. There are only 3,500, individually numbered copies in the world, and number one could be yours.
The vinyl soundtrack features the following six songs from the compilation:
- Golden Axe – “Turtle Village 1"
- Phantasy Star II – “Overworld: Restoration”
- Virtua Fighter 2 – “Burning”
- Space Harrier – “Main Theme”
- Outrun – “Passing Breeze”
- Outrun - “Magical Sound Shower”
I get that they were going for the 'dead platform', 'dead musical format' thing, but don't you think it's kind of ironic that old - which I don't mean in any disparaging way, incidentally - digital music is being released on an audiophile's pet analogue format? Anyway, head over to eBay if you're interested, and do your bit for charity. The compilation itself comes out on February 26th, and contains over forty classic titles from the golden age of the SEGA Mega Drive.

Dang, I thought it was going to be the games themselves. Golden Axe was awesome back in the day.
Well the game is out on 360 and PS3, this is just a soundtrack to it.
