Sony Announces VidZone, Australian PS3 Sales
PS3

Sony has revealed that sales over the PS3 doubled in its second year, reaching 495,000 units in Australian homes. For comparison, in December last year Microsoft was expecting the sale of its 500,000th unit in December, while Nintendo had sold more than 750,000. This is definitely a respectable amount of sales given its higher price point than the other two system.
SCE Australia also announced the imminent introduction of VidZone, a music video service for the PS3 that is being backed by several major record labels and thousands of independent ones. The service will allow users to stream music videos on demand for free.
Also coming soon are two football games for the PSP. AFL Challenge and Rugby League Challenge are officially licensed simulations developed by the Melbourne-based Wicked Witch Software. They'll be hitting mid-season, in July, and will feature every team and player from both codes.
