Sony Develops "Wii Phone"

Sony Ericsson has revelaed their latest handset, the F305. The most interesting thing about the phone is that it incorporates motion sensing technology, something that immediately draws comparisons to the Wii. Supposedly, you'll be able to control bowling and fishing games with just a swing or two, and see the results of your movements on-screen. The phone is being marketed towards younger consumers, and uses advanced motion sensor technology to follow the actions of its owner. The phone also allows games to be played horizontally, and has eight dedicated gaming keys. Three games come loaded on the handset, Bowling, Bass Fishing and Jockey, with more games currently in development by Gameloft, according to Sony. The phone can boost its 8 hour battery life with the Power Pack CPP-100 (an external battery pack) to give gamers extended gameplay.
The phone has a 2 inch screen, 2 megapixel camera, stereo speakers, expandable memory and Bluetooth support. The Sony Ericsson F305 will be available in two colours, Polar White and Mystic Black from the start of the third quarter of 2008, with pricing not yet determined.

When you say swing for bowling, etc., do you mean the same motions associated with the Wii-mote? Or is the motion sensing actually like the six-axis (in which case the Wii comparison seems silly)?
Either way, I've always loved Sony Ericsson phones. When this comes out I'll have to pop into a phone store and poke it.
EDIT: I should add, if they make the motion sensing like the Wii that would be weird. That kind of motion sensing suits console set-ups, not phones where gaming is "on the go". I can imagine small children accidentally punching people with phones right now! (Projectile handsets, even!)
I'm not exactly sure Julz, but as far as I can tell it seems to be in the style of the Wii, where you'd flick your wrist to throw out a fishing line, or make some other motion to set a bowling ball rolling. I also agree that it's not the most practical idea, but it could work. They'll certainly have customers interested.
