Sony Reveals New PSP Models
PSP

Sony has used E3 to announce that it will be releasing a brand new PSP in September which will be some 19% slimmer, and some 33% lighter than the current model. While it looks quite similar in packaging, a few improvements have been made, including a faster UMD drive to speed up loading, and improved battery life. Probably one of the biggest feature is finally the inclusion of a built-in TV-out port which can output progressive scan to any TV, including games, pictures, and videos. All games will be compatible.
They are also planning on releasing a couple of special editions, using the regular model - Firstly a Daxter PSP Entertainment Pack on September 10 in the US. This will consist of Daxter game, 1gb memory stick, Family Guy - Freakin Sweet UMD disc, and a special Ice Silver casing. Pricing is $199USD.
The second will be a Starwars Battlefront Entertainment Pack consisting of Starwars Battlefront: Renegade, and a special edition casing with Darth Vader's visage on the back. It will be released on October 9th (in the US) for $199USD.
Sliced Comments: Hmm, DS Lite Sony. Rumours of this have been circulating for over a month now, but good to see them put to rest, and the continuing future of the PSP looks fairly assured. Some may have had their doubts. TV Out will be a sure winner - and no longer will users have to hack their own dodgy TV out port.
