Span Smasher, a quirky new action game from Artoon, gives you control of a floating ball (tentatively called Smasher) and tasks you with bouncing your way through a variety of environments. You flick him towards objects with the Wii remote (with MotionPlus), and he'll set about crushing them to pieces. During the game, you can acquire different abilities, including growing in size, splitting into multiple balls, or turning to metal.

The game is a side-scroller, and the levels pan automatically. You have to keep moving, otherwise the dragon that's chasing Smasher from the left of the screen will eat him. However, hanging back lets you power up for a bigger burst of energy, so there's a delicate balance to be maintained. The game is meant to have a multiplayer aspect, but whether this means co-operative play or something else is unclear.

We've got no firm release date for this one, so you'll have to make do with some artwork and screenshots for now.
