Square Enix taste Tecmo, ask for seconds
With Tecmo's recent troubles, Square Enix has taken an interest in the home of Team Ninja. Square Enix have reportedly placed a bid to acquire more than half of Tecmo, in a bid to increase it's pull over western audience. Square Enix have apparently assured fans that Tecmo will remain largely autonomous, it's just that SE wants a backup plan when the fanboys realise that their wallets are being drained by the exact same games being re-released on every console, handheld and cell phone known to man (and close inter-galactic neighbours too).
Tecmo, for those of you who don't know, is currently in a bad place after Team Ninja leader Tomonobu Itagaki left due to unpaid bonuses. This caused half of his remaining team to also quit, which led to the new president of the company (the one responsible for not honouring the deal given to Itagaki by the previous president) to quit. It's like a Japanese soap opera with large breasted imaginary ninjas.
